Bear - Mississippi

Bear is a roughly 5 year old longhaired black and tan male Dachshund.  Bear's original owner had passed away and no one had stepped up to take care of him.  Bear was posted on Facebook to find a new home after his owner passed away.  He bounced between a couple of homes before his current owner couldn't bare to see him end up in another bad situation and adopted him.   



Bear was welcomed into a house with 3 new Dachshund siblings (two of which are also lucky rescues!).  When Bear's current owner found him, he was severely malnourished.  To make things worse, when brought in to his veterinarian for a checkup, Bear tested positive for heartworms.

Bear has slowly become stronger and has received the okay from his veterinarian to start his heartworm treatment!  We are happy to help Bear and his owner get him back to good health!
